What: Cavalcade of Lights – Toronto’s Holiday Kickoff
Where: Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto
When: 6:30-10 PM Saturday November 30th
Meet in front of Tim Hortons, south west corner of Queen Street at Bay, 6:30 PM
From 6:30- 7:20, there are activities in the square.
At 7:30 PM, there is a performance by a live artist (Riit) – opportunity to practice shooting performance artists
At 8:10 PM Toronto’s Official Christmas Tree will be lit
At 8:35 PM, live performance by a second artist (Lemon Bucket Orchestra)
At 9:30 PM, there will be fireworks.
This is an opportunity to practice low-light photography especially people, stage performers, architecture, and fireworks
Dress for the weather – current forecast is overcast with temperature around 0C.
While the underground parking garage at City Hall will be open, some roads in the Queen-Bay area may be closed for this event. Transit will be the best option.
Note: tripods may be problemmatic in crowded areas. Suggest bringing a monopod or simply working hand-held.
