Title : The Art of Photography – The Way I See It
Speakers : Stephen Slack, professional photographer and illustrator
Date : Monday, September 24th, 2018 – 7:00 pm
Location : Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd., Etobicoke
Please join the Etobicoke Camera Club for an entertaining and illustrative evening as we delve into the world of creative photography. Professional photographer and illustrator, Stephen Slack will be the featured speaker showing those attending what can be done once the image is captured.
Stephen is a full time freelance photographer and digital artist based in London, Ontario (so he’s had a bit of a drive today to join us) and makes his living from the work he produces which are available in print at shows and also online through the Behance and Artfinder online image and art selling forums. Stephen travels a great deal photographing the people, places and things along the way and you’ll almost always find photography at the base of his creations with graphic elements/digital art included when the final creation warrants it. He’s not beholden to any particular style of photography or artist style and merely use his camera as a tool to lead him in the direction of that particular moment in time. The resulting images are sometimes complex and thought provoking but other times simple but compelling. Stephen has been a Photoshop user since 1995 and has never looked back since, creating images and illustrations in a commercial and creative setting as well as catering to traditional type photographic images.
As well a limited number of complimentary copies of the latest PhotoNEWS magazines will be available to members and guests attending this meeting. Guest fee this evening for non-members, $10.00, parking is free.
